Awesome. The last Cloud Cult album was great. Loved "Happy Hippo" and "That Man Jumped Out The Window" if you want to check them out.

They had an amazing show at Great Scott in November (with Monsters Are Waiting, The Changes and Little Man Tate). Not only were they outstanding, but they had two artists on stage painting on a canvas throughout the set and then auctioned off the painting afterwards for $140.

a friend of mine mentioned last night that she auditioned with this band recently
shes a violinist
apparently the band is a husband wife thing
and wife has a biscuit in the oven
and they want someone to cover when the biscuit is done
and then become a full time member

still wont know for a couple weeks if she made the cut or not

i saw them last night and they had a cello player (who was preggers) and violinist. i thought at first that the cello player was the singer's wife but he mentioned that one of the girls that was painting onstage was his wife.

Listened to this the other day. I was digging it towards the beginning but eventually I got bored. It's too long.

I like the record. A bit all over the place, but some interesting and fun things. Not crazy about the sequencing, but hey.

Interesting nugget via pfork:

Quote:
. The Minnesota-based art-rockers make their recordings using geothermal energy and recycled materials, donate proceeds to environmentally friendly charities, and play concerts with an onstage painter.

Terrible record cover, though.

Just saw them on a marquee (sp?) downtown, walking home from the film festival. Life imitates Obner.
