This is a pretty good list, except I found the Long Winters boring. Was it a grower?

I loved their first one (produced by Ken Stringfellow) and that EP that they put out a whole lot but I was really let down by this new one. Maybe I should revist it but I remember being really disappointed by the new direction they're going in.

I didn't have top 20 love for the new Strokes until I saw them perform live... What a great show/

Funny someone mentions Ken Stringfellow.. He spent a month in Tulsa recently at a friends house while lending his producing abilities in exchange for shelter before going back to Paris. Seriously. What a normal and great guy, other than that Europe thing wanting to do coffee daily.

As for the question, I'm not sure the Long Winters is the best, but I played it the most in 2006 and it never left my car cd player....

I check out his blog pretty frequently to keep up with what he's doing: producing/touring with Big Star/Posies/R.E.M./his solo stuff/Parisian life, etc.

the long winters would be on the list i probably won't make.

there are definitely elements (his voice, sometimes; repetitive choruses) that don't do it for me, but the lyricism is really strong throughout and there are no bad songs.

It didn't do much for me either, Timmy, but I'm willing to give it another go at some point because of the love people seem to have for it here. Eventually.
