It was marginally cold in the car last night. I left my iPod in there for a few hours. The battery drained. And now the fucking thing is corrupt. My dad's iMac has gone from barely reading it to not reading it at all. It clicks and flashes a folder and exclamation point on its screen. What the fuck? I'm irate. I have a 5 hour train ride this afternoon, and two crappy iPods. Motherfucker.

My MD quit on me ages ago.

So there should be a way to reload the ipod firmware, and this should work. my ipod fizzles on me sometimes when i leave it in the cold, but you should be able to get it going again.

I always take it in with me, regardless of how long I'm gone. Sometimes I think its too much of a hassle to unplug it, put it back in its shell, etc--but then I remember the $400 price tag.

i'm sort of waiting on mine to die so i can buy something new.
