I downloaded about ten tracks and I actually liked one of them.

'It's Only Love'

'We Can Work It Out' was okay, as well.

Was 'And Your Bird Can Sing' one of them?

What about 'She Said She Said'?

Or 'If I Needed Someone'?

Maybe 'Blackbird'?

I'll shut up now.

Damn, Harley.
I mean, damn.

Even my 9 year old son likes some Beatles songs.

The fact that at least half of indie pop evolved from Beatley-type stuff doesn't factor in for you?

Those who have been overexposed to the Beatles, those I understand saying something like "I actually like this track...still."

But if you've not heard the songs before, I'd expect you to go "damn, this is pretty good for a bunch of old hippie fucks."

I dunno. Maybe it's the equivalent of saying a Model "A" is a pretty shitty car or something.

I don't recall hearing it before. Surely I've heard a cover somewhere. The other tracks I skipped through because I've heard so many times. 'Eleanor Rigby', 'A Day In The Life', 'Yesterday', 'I Am The Walrus', etc.

I can respect them for influencing a huge number of bands, but I can't force myself to like them just because of that.

And I've heard a large number of Beatles songs that just didn't do it for me. There are a few exceptions. I like a lot off the Help! album and there's some others. I can't remember which. I also like most Lennon solo stuff I've heard, aside from 'Happy Xmas' and 'Imagine'.

The one Beatles song I get really, really excited to hear every time it pops up at random on my iPod is "Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey."

Just do yourself a favor and kill yourself now. I am being a little harsh, but that song is awesome.
