hmm....kind of a bold statement dont you think?

In a blog posted on the JEW's official site, frontman Jim Adkins said "we are making the best album anyone has heard in 21 years"

umm... yeah.

Clarity was my favourite record in the '97-01 timespan, so something even close to that would make me smile.

They're going to have to get in line behind the Strokes and Oasis.

Billboard reports that Jimmy Eat World is nearing completion on its first album in three years. The as-yet-untitled set is due in early summer via Interscope and was recorded at the band's rehearsal space in Tempe, Ariz. It was produced by Butch Vig, telle that he is planning to begin mixing at the end of February or early March.

The album will feature backing vocals from Amy Ross of Nowhere Man And A Whiskey Girl and is expected to include such tracks as "Big Casino," "Be Sensible," "Firefight," and "Electable."

The Middle is one of the few singles I still don't mind hearing despite being overplayed to death.

Futures was a big disappointment for me. Other than Polaris, I don't recall liking any of the songs.

More News:

Quote:
Some more details have surfaced about Jimmy Eat World and their upcoming sixth full length. The album's producer, Butch Vig, spoke to billboard.com about the record saying:

The record is quite eclectic,There are three or four songs that sound like classic Jimmy Eat World, with angular, razor-sharp guitars. There are a couple that are a lot more dreamy, and some that are very groove-acious. Anybody who is fan will like this record.
California-based Vig would spend three or four days at a time in Arizona with the group, while engineer Chris Testa was there for the entire session. Besides the eclectic sounds, Amy Ross of Nowhere Man And A Whiskey Girl has contributed backing vocals to a number of selections from the album, with her voice set to appear on at least four songs.

The as-yet-untitled set is due in early summer via Interscope and was recorded at the band's rehearsal space in Tempe, Ariz. It is the band's first new studio full length since Futures, though the band has since released the Stay on My Side Tonight EP and will soon be reissuing some of their classic albums.
