I don't care for either team, but I rather see the Eagles win.

And a keg of Newcastle, full bar, big screen tv, bbq, pool table= the game is worth watching.

I heart Superbowl parties.

I'll be watching the Super Bowl this year, but I might skip the annual party...
I think the 'rents want me home, for some reason...
The game is more than worthwhile, anyways...

Plus, post-SB, new Simpsons & the premier of American Dad...

it will be worth watching for me, that's for damn sure. for a non-partial viewer, i doubt there will be much interesting. for eagles fans, it is prolly better to find something else to do for 3 hours. why put yourself through it?

Fuck the Eagles. Fuck Terrell Owens. And especially fuck sub-plots. It's a gotdamn football game, not a fucking episode of "Desperate Housewives".

Got nothing against McNabb, but I like the way the Pats go out there and just get the damn job done. Plus, Bill Belichick is from here. Brady I could do without. He's about as uninspiring as they come.

I rarely watch the NFL much anymore, for I find that Rozelle's dream of parity makes for a boring product. Toss in the fact that you can't even fart in the direction of the quarterback without a flag being tossed and it just makes it a watered down version of the game.

i love that everyone thinks the Eagles are going to get blown out, it makes me even more excited about the game.

and as for the Pats and their lack of emotion, i heard an interesting quote about Phil Simms of all people. When asked why he was hogging the spotlight and laughing and joking during the press conferance of his first superbowl he said something to the effect of, "we've all been dreaming and working for this our entire lives, how could i not enjoy this?"

I think that the Patriots have made such a great organization out of superb teamwork the last few years, and that they are very fun to watch as a result. I look forward to watching this.

He only mentioned him because he started talking trash before the Pats/Colts game and look what happened to them.

I wanna see Willie McGinest rip Freddie Mitchell's lips off.

Oh and save the name calling for someone who deserves it.

Despite the dumbing down of the game to the most nonsports sporting event ever the Superbowl this year is well worth watching.

If you listen to people who aren’t voting because of their heart than you can see that this one isn’t even close. In fact the top three teams in the AFC could beat the Eagles and that includes the Colts. New England is better now because of their new running game.

Good luck Eagles but you don’t have a chance, be happy that the NFC sucked this year.

I'd love to go to a Super Bowl party. Anyone got an invite?

Wait, let me make this a relevant post:

Yeah, I think it's going to be worth watching. I don't think it's going to be a blowout, then again, I don't follow football as much as I used to, so my opinion isn't worth much.

Eh, as an Eagles fan, I guess I could be delusional too, but I just don't see the Pats aura of invincibility that everyone else does. Indianapolis lost to them because they were stupid and didn't throw the deep ball once. I don't care if there's a fucking blizzard. If you're the Colts, you've got to air it out at least a little. The Steelers hung with the Pats, but got killed by turnovers, mostly due to Big Ben actually making some rookie mistakes. Either of those teams had the ability to beat the Pats, and I think the Eagles do too. Plus, the Eagles have McNabb. He is my football Jesus, and I believe in him. The Pats don't have anyone that can turn a game around like Donovan.

Yeah. Exactly. I mean, they just lost to the Bears in round 2 of the NFC playoff. They're not even in Jax, then, kiddies.

Eagles have a great chance. AFC as a whole was a better conf, way better. But no way does that mean the Eagles don't have a chance. This is the leagues second best franchise last few years who's finally healthy enough to get to the big game. Who cares if TO isn't 100%, if the Eagles had been this healthy in years past they might be the 2 time Super Bowl winners.

They are way more balanced than anyone the Pats have faced yet in the postseason. Pitt would NOT had beaten the Eagles in the playoffs, not the way interceptionberger played. Regular season beating or not. And Indy is too one dimensional to beat a team as balanced as the Eagles. If conf's were switched this would still be the matchup.

Everyone is comparing the Pats to the 49ers when in reality they're a couple of missed fieldgoals from being the Bills. Who have the Pats even beaten in the Superbowl? Carolina & the Rams. Wow the Pats are unbeatable. Philly is a completely different beast. You people who say they have no chance also must not have given Denver a shot against Green Bay.

I agree with Damen. I think the Eags have a fighting chance, and expect a good match up.

My only quibble w/ the above post is that the Pats are close to being The Bills. The difference here is that winners find a way to win. You won't see Corey Dillon losing his helmet on the sidelines. Had a long discussion about this very thing last night and it comes down to leadership.

Then you'd better enter after drinking Newcastle and eating BBQ - you've gotta keep the equation as intact as possible...

and Elway lost three super bowls before he was crowned the best QB of all time. So he would have been just a Jim Kelly loser if he didn't have a good offensive line coach and a solid GM to give him 6 chances.

sometimes winners get lucky, sometimes losers get unlucky.

if not for the tuck rule we'd be having a very different conversation right now and the Raiders of three years ago would be heralded.

say what you will about Andy Hall, but i still say Rich Gannon is the best QB to ever come out of the University of Delaware.

I understand what you are saying, but Elway was always the greatest QB of all time. Starting around 1986. See, he needed a team to help him, not just intestinal fortitude. Kelly had a team. The Bills were stacked from O (Kelly, Thermal, Loftin) to D (C'nelius Bennet, Daryl Talley, et al) and even special teams (Stave Tasker, what?!?!) and they couldn't get it together. It was like Norwood's ghost was hanging on them. They went from a good showing to getting the brakes beat off 'em three straight times.

Sorry, jewels, on my team, Thermal don't lose his helmet. That was a sign of being shook, and you and I both know there ain't no such things as halfway crooks.

Sometimes its better to be lucky than good, but most of the team the winner has the most talent and is better prepared, kinda like the Pats, or George W. Bush.

The comparisions to the 49ers at this point are ridiculous was my point.

And while we're on the topic of Elway & the 49ers I'm gonna tell you my Elway theory. If he had come in with the 49ers & had the adavantage of not only playing for an offensive genius like Walsh (who could also build a D thru the draft) but also introducing the West Coast Offence he'd had done everything Montana did & maybe more. And that's coming from two 49er fans, myself & my dad.
