If you got the opportunity to make a theatrically-released movie, which song would you use during the opening credits, and which would you use during the end credits?

OPEN:
"The Right Hand" -- The Natural History

CLOSE:
"Let the Distance Bring Us Together" -- Britt Daniel & Bright Eyes

The movie I am working on rolls opening credits to the sound of "Personality Crisis" by The New York Dolls.

Closing credits would need to be something like 'Up Against the Wall Redneck Mothers" by Jerry Jeff Walker or "Good Hearted Woman" by Willie Nelson.

Edit: or "Black Rose" by Waylon Jennings.

Funny you ask that because my fantasy job would be to be the one who picks music for film (music supervisor?!??) -- it would only work for me if they were good films though, heh. I often hear a track and think that it would make a good 'intro' or 'outro'.

That's exactly what made me start this thread. "Let the Distance Bring Us Together" popped up on random earlier and even though I've heard that song dozens of times before, it just struck me that it would be really perfect for the last scene/closing credits of a movie.

*Slo-motion shot(s) of hottie female lead walking into a bar and male lead's reaction while sitting at said bar. Think "Jumpin Jack Flash" in Mean Streets and make the necessary changes.

(couldn't find Herbie Field's version of "Huggin And Chalkin'" so that's Hoagy Carmichael's original there. I like Field's way better)

Opening: Beat the Devil, Shine in Exile

Opening sequence is a pan shot, beginning with shoes, slowly moving up a woman walking through a hallway. She walks at a medium, deliberate, stylistic pace.

Closing: Flaming Lips, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
Let the piano begin as the main character is looking down at the city, pan toward the city and fade to black, let the credits begin to roll

Nice topic-- ok here goes
The title: iMatalos!
An NC-17 flick about a summer of sex and mayhem in the latin sun
Fade in:sweat drips onto a spanish language newspaper proclaiming rash of summer serial killings on the island, turn down the paper and spot the quirky sexy femme fatale. Cut to the paper dropping to the table by an empty beer bottle, shot glass and lime
soundtrack: The Specials ~ Ghost Town (chemical submission mix)

out:
an homage to the famed beach kiss in From Here to Eternity as the murderous lovers roll on the beach naked as blood washes into the sea
soundtrack:
Emiliana Torrini~ Unemployed in Summertime
