Has anyone else seen it yet? I don't think it's quite as funny as The Office, but there are enough laughs to keep me watching.

The basic premise is Andy Millman is an aspiring actor stuck in "background" roles because of his inept agent. His friend Maggie makes sure that there's plenty of uncomfortable moments on the set.

I'm hoping it gets shown over here soon, but so far I'm just downloading the episodes using bittorrent.

It will be on HBO as soon as 'Entourage' is done (sometime in September).

Stephen Merchant is his agent in the series too, I believe.

I just figured out this was on HBO. The first 2 episodes were pretty good, especially the scenes with Andy at the christian meeting and Andy & Maggie chatting up the producer and his asian wife.

Back in the early 90's I got to interview Billy Connolly for a college magazine. It was on the set of a TV film called 'Down Among The Big Boys'.

My charm and rapport with celebrities ensured that Billy Connolly stormed out of the interview within, well seconds, bawling obsenities at me.

With an interview with Connolly no longer a possibility I wandered around the set. I spotted one of the lead female actors in the drama, a hot young 19 year old blonde.

Forgetting my journalistic mission, distracted by more lusty desires, I chatted up the young actress who's name I discovered was Ashley Jensen.

Two more minutes and I would have had a thespian date but sadly she got called and I went back to the college without either an interview or a date.

Ashley Jensen, all these years later, plays the part of Maggie in Extras.

I just got the first disc of season 1 from Netflix today. We'll see how it is.

It's hard to watch him playing a vaguely functional human being, when I keep expecting him to act like David Brent.

After watching the first two episodes of season 1, I'm pretty sure I laughed less than watching the Office. However, with one episode left on the disc, there's plenty of time for a come-from-behind win.

My favorite Extras episode is the one where the other actor/extra wants to be his friend.

When they visit the grave of his mother.....it kills me.

The first episode of Season 2 is ok. I'll watch it again tonight.

So, um, you're basically agreeing with me that the show rocks. That has to perturb you just a little?

Why would that perturb me?

You don't understand baseball but you seem to like decent comedies....big deal.

Just because we disagree on "clutchness" and the fallibility of human memory doesn't mean we're completely irrational and hate people we've only met over the internet. Don't confuse us with OPA.

Nice ep, but not the best. That honor goes to the Patrick Stewart episode.

Here's the proof:

Graveyard scene is a little funnier IMO but that's a great scene.

Another great ep is the one where they keep trying to convince the black actors that they aren't racist.

don't know who is less funny, this dude, or Steve Carell imitating him on the American version of Teh Office...

Throw in Steven Colbert and say, Will Ferell, you have a good debate for the question "People less funny than Larry the Cable Guy."

Incidentally, Louis CK just said "I hope you skate into an AIDS tree", which made me laugh harder than anything has this year so far.
