congrats saints fans.

The decision to throw on 3rd and 1 was worse than the decision to punt.

and i was so proud of them for jumping over the pile at the goal line earlier in the game.

By the way, no one commented on that hit that Reggie took. I thought he was done after that one. How on earth can the human body absorb that kind of punishment?

I don't even know what to think right now. This is beyond belief.

Is it possible for some dumbass fan to actually reach onto the field and snatch a sure touchdown pass from Brees outta the air a la the Cubs?

BTW, that's no girl in that t-shirt, it's CC DeVille.

Andy Reid must've forgotten about the 4th and 26 the Eagles completed against the Packers a few years back to win that game.

Terrible decision. Even if you go for it and don't make it, you give the ball back to Saints, and use your time outs. They wouldn't have gone for aTD there, just a FG, so you're still down just 6 points and a chance for a TD to win.

Congrats Saints.

I don't think that punting in that situation in most games would be a bad idea, but in this case it was pretty stupid. When the opposing team has run all over you, your offense has been able to throw the ball well, and your defense is really tired; you should just put all your eggs in one basket and go for it on fourth. At least you have a slim chance.

Anyway, I don't really have anything against the Saints (other than that they beat the Eagles) but I'm getting pretty annoyed about the national press talking about how much the Saints are doing for the city, blah, blah, blah. They're winning football games, not building houses. I don't doubt that people in NOLA are very excited about the Saints. But I think the press focuses on them more because how they make Americans outside of New Orleans feel. People feel guilty and ashamed about what happened with Katrina and are relieved to have a story about New Orleans that actually makes them feel good. Even though it's just football, and it ain't going to do much for most of the people in the city.

You were saying FT??

Looks like SD didn't even make it to the AFC Championship - Martyball strikes again!

El Scorcho, I compeltely understand this way of thinking but it couldn't be more wrong. With so bad news and little hope, the Saints provide not only a distraction and something to look forward to every week but also a glimmer of hope. I've never seen so much sports gear than this past saturday. Every game feels like millions of people and rallying together and beliving that things can change for the positive.

I agree that the Saints are truly giving NOLA hope. Anyone who has lived there knows it for sure. Don't doubt.

Beware Bears & Pats fans, the Saints now have the additional power of Brangelina.

I'm gonna beat Bloor to the joke and say, who's shocked that Brangelina is moving to another third world country?

Pretty sure no one outside of the state of Illinois is pulling for the Bears to win this one.

I can't lie. I'm pulling for them to win because of the state of things down there and because I love the Big Easy.

Also, I'm a big fan of Jon Stinchcomb and, to a lesser extent, Charles "Pandering" Grant.

I was reading last night that Stinchcomb was preparing his medschool application before this season because he wasn't sure he'd be playing. It's crazy how many stories like that are on this team.

Damn, am I that predictable? Seriously though, sometimes this shit writes itself, no?

And Derris, if you are pulling for the Aint's, you are dead to me. YOU'RE A FALCONS FAN, MAN. GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF.

This is another terrorist attack game as far as I'm concerned.

I think a short visit by Tank Johnson could turn around your thinking on this... He might even bring out the big gun, by which I mean -- THE SEX CANNON (Erin Andrews's sloppy seconds no longer included; it's been years, man).
