If Manning had delivered as he had during the season, that game should never have come down to a last second FG.

So far these playoffs, even though the Colts are 2-0, Manning has been TERRIBLE in both games. Lord knows how they managed to beat the Ravens, given that lethargic offensive display. If he's ever going to shake the "can't win the big one" tag, it will have to be this weekend. If he loses yet another playoff tilt to the Pats -- this one AT HOME -- there's no mending his legacy. It's now or never, Pey-Pey.

Likewise, if Peyton & the Black Schottenheimer pull out the victory, what do the Bostonians (most annoying sports fans, ever?) & their strange-bedfellow allies in the Peach State Krylon Regiment say? How do they describe it? Will they admit that Brady is fallible, and/or that maybe the Manning Face (sorry for the bill simmons phrase) isn't a perpetual losing machine?

Even if they do win, it's just the AFC Championship. There's no ring for that.

if if if. i will admit that brady is fallible when he loses a big game. if he loses one of the next 2, i'm sure we will never hear the end of it. meanwhile, peyton manning loses big games all the time and is considered a great qb. go figure.

Yes, yes... But, would it not also be the Patriots eliminated from the playoffs two years consecutive, first by Jake Plummer, then by Peyton Manning?

Oh, the humanity!

Not shaking hands with his former assistant and pushing down a camera to later hug this same guy comes to mind.

so say if your assistant just up and left you to play for one of your hated rivals you wouldn't have ANY hard feelings? right.

and as for the pushing of the cameraman, he apologized to him.

y'all are just jealous.

He didn't desert Belichick. He got a head coaching job. You would think Belichick would be happy for him.

Second, saying "I wish it hadn't happened" isn't an apology.

Anyway, even if he were a nice person, if the Pats win another Super Bowl just by coasting through their easy division and then getting consecutive Schottenheimer/Manning chokejobs, that will be reason enough to hate him.

Yeah, but Brady went to a private school for high school.

the dispute comes from mangini trying to take a number of key patriots coaching personnel with him. the interesting question in all of this is what does it have to do with any of us if he has a problem with someone he used to work with? how does that make him a bad guy exactly? do all of your personal and professional relationships end well? mine don't. hell of a weird thing to judge a stranger on.

I thought it was pretty cool that Belichick donated all of his father's football books to the Navy's football program.

Sure, but he's not a stranger, he's a sports figure. I don't need to have any reason to dislike him other than what team he plays for. I happen to a have a couple (albeit tenuous) reasons for disliking him, but that's beside the point. And I don't hate him in any real sense, just in a sports world sense. I'm sure Jeter's never done anything to qualify him as a bad person, but ask about him around Boston and I bet you get some pretty strong reactions. It's sports. It's not real.

Does anyone else imagine all shiv's posts being spoken by Tom Brady and his pointer finger?
