My mom has sent me 21 so far today. I deleted the lot of them.

i have certain friends that mail me that shit daily.
i don't even bother to open them.

i instantly check them for deletion before even bother to look at the real meat of my emails.

I made my mom stop sending them...recently she forgot this and it has started again.

5-6 a week for me

I gotten 3 more in the last 15 minutes.

this week i've recieved e-mails from myself (articles about art) from a design studio i stopped working at in the middle of december.

i sent one back asking if i existed in a parallel universe but haven't received an answer yet.

i'm confused.

There should be a e-mail backwards option where it sends the offending e-mail back to whomever sent it with the message "Do I Give A Shit You Fucking Retard?" in large, bold letters.

Haha...I'm sure Mom would love that.

My mom just recently started forwarding things to me. From medical links to cute little poems and stuff.

From her I don't mind.

But I used to have this friend who used forward people shitty emails about ten times a day. I'd just delete upon seeing her name. Didn't even read em.

Later she got fired from her job for not working enough when she was there.

Gee I wonder why.

Yeah. I had to have a "discussion" with my Mom about this a bunch of times... she's cut down since then. I don't so much mind the nauseatingly mushy and/or moralistic ones, it's the completely false "urban legend" ones that drive me crazy---e.g. the one about a woman driving home late at night and... oh I can't remember what it was exactly. They just bother me because they get spread around by people my Mom's age and they get all worried for nothing. I don't like seeing my Mom, who is a smart woman, get taken for a ride.

I usually look 'em up on an urban legends site and send the link back to whoever forwarded it to me. I probably come off as a jerk, but I'd rather people know the facts.

It also just seems a little sad to open an email from someone you know and have it be shit like this instead of a real, personal email.

I usually know what they are from the subject lines when it says Fwd: Fwd: This Is Funny!!! and it's really not.

I talked to my mom a little while ago and she said she hasn't been on the computer for like a week so that's why there were so many.

My sister forwarded me an e-mail yesterday, got it back from someone else and forwarded it to me again. Time to join Mom in the junk mail box.

my family stopped sending them to me a long time ago because I kept on sending them right back to the sender. Kinda works.

I need a solution for this too. I have 3-4 people that just send me forwards. I especially hate those "friendship" ones and "luck" ones that you are suppossed to forward on and "not break the circle". I'm too busy for this crap.

If anyone sends me one of those heartfelt, inspirational ones, I scroll right to the bottom to see if it's all just a set up for a bitter, cynical joke.

If it really is heartfelt and inspirational, I slap a puppy just to even things out.

it'd be even better if you could put a big, red REJECTED stamp in the middle of the e-mail.

my aunt sends on average 7 a day.

The worst are the people who still send me these FWD's that say SEND THIS OUT TO 10 PEOPLE IN THE NEXT 15 MINUTES AND YOU WILL RECEIVE $500 IN THE MAIL!!

They simply just can't take the chance that they'll miss out if it's true.

Even worse are the ones that say "Send this out to 7 people you care about and CC the person who sent it to you so they'll have good fortune". So now I'm being made to feel guilty if I don't CC the person who sent it to me.

I have tried to cut these people out of my life.

Although to give her some credit I think her friends send her, like, 20 a day. It must be so annoying being that age and having to deal with friends who don't have a clue about "the innernets". She's pretty hip, IMO.
