In 1972, after the monstrous success of Shaft, Isaac Hayes landed a new contract from Stax Records. In this contract, Stax agreed to lease Hayes a vehicle. And not just any vehicle, mind you, but a 1972 Cadillac with tricked out completely with gold where all the chrome would be, leather, fur, television and refrigerator. I was looking for a picture of this monster, but I actually stumbled across a video of it.

I love those big ass 70's rides. One of my friends in high school had this early 80's Ford LTD monster that we used to ride around in before most of us had licenses.

Skidded on black ice into oncoming traffic...head on into a van. I was banged up pretty good, and fortunately was the only one injured in the wreck. I've taken up residence in a nursing home for the next couple months while I undergo more surgery and rehab. Gonna miss that car, it was coming together nicely.

Fuckola, I never met the car but I'm gonna miss it too... they ain't making any more of them. Glad you're alright dude. Sucks the car had to take one for the team, but just think of the destruction if it'd been a Kia or something. At least there was a lotta steel between you and the van.
