1. Yeah, the 1/2 indian girl had some tattahs. Yowza.
2. The Taylor Hicks hair dresser dude was on something good.
3. I wish they'd show all the ones who got through, and skip the "am I allowed to laugh or is he handicapped" moments.

Every year I have this debate about whether or not the fucked up ones are character actors, or maybe just people pulling a stunt, but I don't know anyone who could do that shit without laughing, unless it was real.

Local Access TV over the past 30 years is testament that these people are real.

Likewise, the rise of videoblogs and uploading of "performances."

There's a couple in their 50's in my town who've done a country gospel show on local access every Sunday for many, many years. They've never gotten better, they've always been horrible, they've always been 1-hundred percent sincere and certain that they're the jesus heirs to Porter and Dolly. They aren't. They suck. And they don't know.

i saw only tuesday night's, where jewel's biggest fan was singing in front of jewel. there wasn't anything remotely funny about it, it was just the blazing car on the side of the road.

ctually, it was just a steaming car on the side of a road, with a girl who does glamour shots for a living standing beside it fanning herself and crying. schadenfreud is supposed to be juicier than that.

the judges weren't in the least bit funny, except when randy finally got all shouty on the voice teacher. and perla/shakira makes me want to stab somebody. mark my words.

I saw this too. She's got a serious shit-disturber vibe that I hope to see more of.

i'm about to not make sense to a lot of you people, but perla reminds me of melrose from the last season of "america's next top model." very schlocky, i-am-to-please-and-be-perfect-perky lap doggish.

I can't bring myself to watch it, yet somehow found myself watching part of Armed and Famous last night.
I just can't imagine 33 million people watching ten horrid singers and then one supposedly talented person, then repeat cycle one or two more times.

For the most part I agree with you and up until last night's episode I refused to watch it....However last night was the Seattle episode - most of which was filmed at the W Hotel in downtown Seattle - right where my bus drops me off to go to work every morning - so I had to see these talentless hack freakshows crowding the sidewalks for a week - So I HAD to watch this one episode....am not disappointed to say that for the most part my initial judgement of them was right on. ;)~

I look forward to the rest of the season, post-auditions. This part just makes me hate people even more.

I think they pay them to be "jobbers". Like, "look, you suck, but here's $1,000 to go do it in front of Simon and get crushed. An extra $100 if you make a scene or cry"

Like the thing at the end last night where they had all the shitty people singing that one song. Obviously a setup.

It is TV after all.

Yeah, totally. I mean, they *appear* to show the entire audition, and yet later on there's footage of them doing different songs?! Setup.

i don't think they have to pay anyone. There are football stadiums full of people all desperate to be on TV one way or other, i don't think it would be that hard to find 15-20 people that are delusional freaks.

I go to open mic's every week, i've seen my share of delusional freaks.
