Damn.

I checked his site to see if there were any other dates and alas there are none listed. BUT, I did see "A Tune a Day" mentioned here!

Noice!

danny's is awesome. just a house turned into a bar, although the only performances i've seen there have been from dj's. dig the song you posted and the ones on his myspace alot.

it was good. the music was lovely, both by the DJs and pioulard. no lyrics on benoit's part, so that was a little upsetting. most of the crowd seemed into it except for the group of people immediately to my left who seemed to be there just for a party. good crowd, too. probably 50 people.

downside: getting sort of lost on the way down there, 25 degree weather (which feels like 17 degrees thanks to the 21 mph winds!) and a 1.75 hour trip home. my fingers are numb. and i just ate a bowl of generic frosted flakes which tasted burnt.

he's got one of those ruddy complexions and he's nerdhott when he's consumed by his laptop. i wouldn't say he's hot, though. honestly, he looked like every other hipster in the room. except the jewish guy that i was sitting with. he looked like todd. i even asked him at one point if his name was todd. this was after learning that his name is david.

places with 4 a.m. liquor licenses get that kind of crowd.

When did Danny's get the 4am license? I remember closing Danny's down and heading out to The Blue Note (when it was on Armitage).

Sounds like a good time, Jas.

More than a couple of years, the 2 a.m. line would form at Estelle's and start to wrap around the corner and invariably at the other 4 a.m. bars, like the note, and nick's uptown, and danny's, people would get restless and try different lines with less luck.

usually everyone who worked at any of those places would end up at estelle's or danny's at 7 or 8 a.m. drinking behind the blinds.

haha... meh. he kept mumbling your name over and over again. i was like, "yo! i am jasmine!" and he was like, "i know, and i'm aladdin!" and it was really fucked up. i slipped him your number, so all's well.

phil, i know about the magic of 4am bars. i haven't always been mostly sober, you know.
