Ghost of Tom Joad is definitely a great companion to this. But I like Nebraska more.

The peaks are comparable.

Reason to Believe may be my favorite Springsteen song (this week)

I prefer Iowa, but that could be because I grew up there.

Ghost suffers a little from the over-longs, like most of the Boss's later work. It's only ten minutes longer than Nebraska, but it feels like 20, if you know what I mean. Nebraska is great because nothing about it is over-anything.

 i've never heard it either, red.

I've often wondered why, but this has always slipped under my radar despite all the great things I've read about it and the conscious decision many times to make an effort to pick it up.

I thought in the past, through aural/visual imagery, that it would make a great soundtrack to All The Right Moves.

Amazing album. Where did I read or who said that this is the album all hipsters refer to when discussing Springsteen? Anywho, fantastic album and one I got in bed with in high school when I got it for a buck at a local record store. It actually spurned me on to seek out more of his records.

Loog--Badlands is an amazing film, but also let's not forget the other film that was inspired by this album--Indian Runner.

I've never heard it. In fact i don't think i've heard an entire Bruce album.

All i'm familiar with is his 80's hits and that Jerry Mcguire song.

As drawn as I am to depressing music, I had trouble listening to Nebraska when it was new, and these days, I just can't. Sorry.

I never knew that. Is it as god-awful as his latter movies?

Why, yes it is. But after further review he realized it was too daunting a task, so he whittled it down to one record titled Born In The USA.
It sucked.

Yeah, that did suck. God, I hate Tom Cruise movies.

Right now, I hear 2 noises :

1. My laughter

b. A rather loud "whooshing" sound.

This was one hell of an exchang. Who needs "Extras"?

Yeah, it makes people like me who live in that part of the country think Obnerians might actually someday visit me.
That said, this place is made for people who like to eat lots of red meat, drink cheap beer and don't avoid saying non PC things.

Yup, its bad. This was 91 though...he's done some quality work since then.

I mean the ones he's directed mainly, but what is the last good movie he even acted in?
