i think we just booked one with the Zutons basically to play in front of a bunch of Sony/BMG label cronies. anyone ever do this kind of thing?

i'm not entirely opposed to the idea, but...seems kinda weird.

it's not official yet, but if anyone is in boston this saturday, it'll be $1 at the door and we go on around 7:30, followed by the Z's.

Showcases are a bit odd...
Don't expect any crowd interaction, nor for most of the people to pay attention during your set. Sorry, but that's the way these things go...

we're expecting the following:
- kicking the zutons' collective asses
- free drinks
- loading out early enough to make it over to see rogue wave

beyond that, it's anyone's guess. we spent at least 18 months doing mostly crappy opening slots before moving up, so this won't be a letdown or anything. mostly just odd.

Dude, you should go "Anton" on the fuckers. Get all boozed up and get in a brawl with yr. band.

Or, just yell MIKE JONES into the mic every 20-30 seconds.

Also, some kind of massively offensive t-shirt should be worn, or play The Tsunami Song or something. Go nuuuuts and tear the joint apart. Tell all the suits "If you had any heart, you'd steal for a living."

If you wanna do well at any industry gig, just pour bags of coke onto the tables.

Don't forget some whores!

not worth the trouble, but it is oddly comforting to know that we could pull that together if we wanted.

oddly comforting? sure, why not!

silliness!

Good luck - didn't mean to be so pessimistic before...
Hopefully it's only the ones in L.A. that are like that...
