Can't say I remember what it was but I videotaped a few of them off "Friday Night Videos" in Chicago during the early to mid-80's.

I honestly don't remember... the one I remember seeing on MTV that made an impression on me? drum roll please... "hungry like the wolf"... derrrrrrr. I saw it at my next door neighbor's house because we didn't have mtv at the time.

I remember there was this locally produced video show in atlanta called Video Jukebox or something, it was on UHF channel 36... some awful dj hosted it. But I saw some cool stuff like peter gabriel's "shock the monkey," kate bush's "breathing," and other kind of different sounding stuff... at least "different" for a kid in 1982 suburban atlanta.

oops, links:

kate bush: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gHYjA6cVPg
peter gabriel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d70RNjLsuSk
and the only one that really matters and TRUMPS ALL...

The first music video that I ever remember seeing was It Smells like Teen Spirit by NIrvana. I remeber that I was like 5 or 6 and my family was on vaction somewhere and were staying in a hotel room and my dad was watching mtv. At the time I had no idea what nirvana was but I distincly remember thinking that the janitor in the video was cool. I didn't realize what video it was until years later when I was 13 and started listening to nirvana

I think I just had my first "old fart" moment.

Thank you.

Queen - "Bohemian Rhapsody" on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert in the '70s. I remember thinking how weird it was that it wasn't a live performance on the show.

Dude, where you been Moxie?

Chronology gets a little fuzzy twenty-some years ago....I know it wasn't the first video I ever saw, but I do recall my mom marching into the living room and turning off the TV when the video for Rick Springfield's "Human Touch" was on. I believe it had some sort of outer space theme?

Probably "Here Comes the Rain Again".
At least that left the biggest impression on me.
