those are all good with the exception of Lost which I've never seen, but speaking of minimalism, I've always really liked The Shield for how the music just kicks in but then the whole title sequence is really really Short.

I can listen to the US version everytime I watch (and rewatch) the show. The UK I just like to skip past.

I stand humbly corrected. I mean, disco music, hang gliding, karate, motorcycles, ... I'm really pissed I didn't think of that.

My freshman year in college I used to race home to watch re-runs of Chips at noon. My roomate and I would sing along at the top of our lungs.

I suppose it's been sullied by the movie release and all the ironic praise of the show over the past few years, but Waylon doing the Dukes of Hazzard opening was pretty awesome when I was a kid.

I can match this scenario EXACTLY, except it was Quincy, M.E., instead of CHiPs.

And much surreal hilarity ensues.

Not sure why, because it doesn't seem like a good fit, but I really have grown to like the ending of Extras.

Besides the Simpsons and Futurama (the first which is obviously the best and the second which has already been mentioned here), I really like the Sealab 2021 intro because of the song. That song rocks.

Can you believe they changed the opening because some people didn't like the original??

That's ludicrous. Everyone I know who watches it loved the original version and hates this one. Talk about the network getting it backwards.

Oh and I ditto Greatest American Hero theme song. I freaking love that song, still.

Believe it or not, George isn't at home.
Please leave a message at the beep.
I must be out, or I'd pick up the phone.
Where could I be?
Believe it or not, I'm not home!

that is pretty cool.

I taped the theme of The Greatest American Hero off the TV by holding a tape recorder up to it when I was a kid. What a little snot nosed faggot I was.
