I'm gonna go with "Phantom Limb" as my favorite track so far. I'm really not feeling "Sea Legs" :?

It helps me appreciate Pink Bullets and Caring is Creepy more. I don't forsee them being the indie darlings they once were.

On first listen, I am quite impressed. And I know it will grow too.

I have had to make myself stop listening to it. It's good, really good, but more than that the songs have an evil habit of sticking in my head for DAYS... to the point where I get angry.

It's gotten to where I can't pull it off the shuffle, but when one of the songs comes on I fast forward it. Most of the time.

And this morning, like always, I woke up with it in my head again.

Wait, I HAVE TO use firefox with sendspace, or I "should" use it? If this involves a browser change... prepare yourself for disappointment.

Yeah I think you do. You should switch anyway, but I understand if you don't want to.

Derris -- I know its been around for a while, but I didn't really care. Someone else I know wants it, and I figured I'd give 'er a whirl.

I've just got all my shit set up on Explorer the way I like it (cop out), and I do hate the look of Firefox (worse cop out, but actually true).

Either way, get this album.

Are you on a mac?

I haven't used Exploder in years, finally switched from Safari to Firefox (once you get used to how it looks, it is a million times better, imo)

I'll get it from Derris or Dalen or someone. Thanks for the (complete lack of) effort though ;)

I'm on a good 'ol pc - one I rebuilt right before I got canned. I wish the drive were bigger than 40 gigs, but otherwise no complaints. And considering it was free... I've gotten a lotta use out of it.

Get that shit from Derris. And man o man does that shit sound good at 320... wow. Head and shoulders above most everything else I listen to. Well-mastered.

I seem to remember a lot of people hating on Chutes at first too. Come to think of it, it seems strange to me that anyone would feel the need to share their first impressions on any record let alone this one. I mean seriously, are any of our opinions so earth shatteringly important that they not only need to be shared but every phase of their evolution needs to be documented as well? For christ's sake people spare us the agony of following your enjoyment evolution and just give us your perspective when its actually been informed. We've already got Pitchfork spewing out halfassed reviews, am I too optimistic to think that we can maybe reach a higher level here?

A lot of us know each other now. So when someone who likes the same kind of things as you says "sounds really good" after a couple of listens, we wanna know. Saves time.

I've finally warmed up to the positive side of "meh" on this. There are a few good tracks, but the rest just don't do anything for me. I'm also a little pissed they trotted out "New Slang" when they were on SNL a week or two ago with Brokeback Darko. I mean, do you not have enough confidence in your new material to play two songs from it, instead of just one? And while "New Slang" is a nice song and all, it's really not something that translates well in a live setting...especially on TV.
