Call me an optimist, but I'm still hoping that the person typing all that shit doesn't believe it. That is to say, it is some sort of ruse, even if it's not a known boarder (though it really seems like it would be). I just don't believe (or don't want to, frankly) that someone out there gets this much amusement out trying to start fights all day, while pretending not to.

It's funny, I haven't made personal attacks on anyone here. Just stated valid, legitimate facts. Evidently, some people feel intimidated by it. Ban me. Silence me. That would just show me that y'all can't handle teh ugly truth.....

There's something about this sentence that should let us all know he is either another longtime member or lurker.

And why would we ban anybody...he is contributing to the marketplace of ideas.

I saw that too. I figured it was the honest kind (typo).

And it's not a marketplace if nobody's buying anything.

Folk in Milwaukee don't regularly say "y'all" much less type it.

Where has Busty been again?

Exactly. Other websites have ban rules, some enforce them more vigilantly.

Hell Hipinion bans people on a regular basis. But us? Nah, we don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

Poor little troll, we don't want to step on his toes now do we?

He's right, this place sucks because the threads have all become this jackasses threads or threads about him. Ban his ass and delete his threads so we can at least go back to some kind of normal. Whatever the hell that is.

I didn't really view the banning as a fear of hurting someone's feelings. I think the point is that there are a handful of people that continue to respond to him/her (most likely a him because only a guy could be so irritating). I even respond. It's humorous at times. If he were making 15 threads a day and there were no responses, I could see at least deleting his threads because they don't particularly add any new ideas beyond his original. However, banning the dude because he's being stupid is an awfully subjective thing and it just doesn't make sense to arbitrarily ban someone based on that criteria. I am pretty sure if the arbitrary opinion and preference of moderators and administrators were the guidelines for banning then there would be 5 people left here. Haq, FT, Aural, Konstantin, Katie (the Princess).

And his first couple of threads were actually pretty ok. One of them was a mini-mega...

I'd never vote to ban anyone because the liberal side of me says free speech is free speech and he can do whatever the fuck he wants.

But, the internet is so ubiquitous that he can certainly find a better place to spout this stuff. I come here because I like to "hang out" here when I'm surfing the web, talking with people with a lot of the same interests as me (read: not the same beliefs). Just like anything else I don't want him shitting all over it either.

I equate this to me hanging out with some friends at my favorite watering hole and some insane street corner preacher coming in yelling about how we're all going to hell. Steps would be taken.

If each one of us pledged to not respond and create a music related topic everytime he posts his posts would quicky be relegated to page 3 and beyond.

instead of banning him, i've just started deleting any of his threads that are equivalent to spam. any new sensei threads will be regarded with a great deal of suspicion until he cools off the threadbombing. if he happens to start a non-spam thread, we'll see.

other moderators should act accordingly.
