With Scott Walker, Liars and Fiery Furnaces on my list, I'm thinking I don't have a "Put It On For Party Guests" 2006 Top 20.

And Joanna. Man, you have terrible taste.

I have vast, diverse and awesome taste. Sometimes I stumble, but it makes my majesty that much more human.

It occured to that all of you are one person using fake screennames... including Sensei... there really is no Obner.

Somehow I missed the Liars... both reviews made me go to Amazon and get it immediately. Thanks.

I hate Cat Power... although the blurb makes me want to listen to this... even One Bitten Twice Shy, which was a song by Ian Hunter who is the closest artist I can think of to Bejar... ultimately it's all connected.

We're all tabs on your tongue from 1971-75.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) how about 1967-1986. And my tongue's done worse.

I thought Monty did a fine job on the Cat Power blurb. And I wonder who ties Timmyjoe's shoelaces for him?

I don't even know what this means.

Props to Monty for his relative clarity.

The Cat Power album does excel in headphones, though I definately get the "background music" reference. There's some awfully good playing hidden back in there.

I am intrigued by your opinion, & would like to subscribe to your newsletter. Also, I would like to finish better than you in Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball Obnerball.

I'm already getting geared up for the year. I've been making spreadsheets with sleepers and trying to come up with some projections.

I don't want a repeat of last year.

dri: the opening track on Drum's Not Dead does build up to the something. It builds up to the jungle psycho freakout that is the second track. This album is bigger than individual songs having meaning, it flows from track to track in search of impact. I tend to look at these songs as groupings meant to have effect rather than just single tracks. Songs 1-3 is as powerful a suite of music as I've heard in a long long time. This album definitely isn't for everyone, but all the same it definitely requires some perspective.
