I am not a vegetarian and I do not expect anyone to change their diets, but this was a very interesting video on Kentucky Fried Chicken and how they handle the chickens they raise. It almost makes me sad that I am even alive and have to make animals suffer so much because of what I eat. I only post this to give a different perspective on what happens behind the scenes at this specific company.

Just as a warning, the video might be disturbing to some people.

Bea Arthur just has no credibility with me. If this were Conrad Bain, well now, pass the Not Dogs.

And the worst part is that they totally have the genetic engineering program where they all like, grow mutant chickens with 6 wings and 4 legs and no head so they have to feed them through like, their necks!

if this really bothers you, try not eating chicken. when you do crave chicken, think about your above statement.

Yep. On some level it bothers me a lot. In high school and college enough to be a vegetarian. Now I buy free-range eggs, but haven't taken the time to see if the chicken I buy is free-range or not. So, on a practical leve, I'm being a schmuck about the fate of other living critters.

I admit that I eat a lot of meat, but, one of the reasons I quit practicing law is that my firm was about to move me to Dallas to handle a lot of "Pilgrim's Pride" work -- which deals mostly with people getting sick from eating their chicken. A friend of mine showed me a video like the one from KFC and I just couldn't do it.

. . .I sort of decided I'd have a much easier time defending the constitutional rights of a scumbag than telling a jury there is nothing wrong with this.

The fact that some people are still cracking jokes sickens me. I spit on you, and not in the traditional Greek sense of the phrase.

Popeye's is way better anyway.

And I heard at Church's they chase them around with werewolf masks to induce heart attacks.

Who else could possibly fill the role of spokesperson and effectively communicate with the youth of today, the Future of America?

I worked for them here in Atlanta while I was looking for a permanent job. They had just bought ConAgra and I was doing part time stuff to help with transition. Bizarre company. Bo Pilgrim is apparently a jebus freak and believes that God is behind his companies success or something. They would openly have chaplains come around once a week and say hey to you individually and ask you if everything was okay. Made me a little uncomfortable to the point of me going to the break room when they were making their rounds.

I also heard that Bo Pilgrim, for all his religous beliefs, also has some massive bust of himself in the lobby of their corperate headquarters. Crazy egomaniac.

We lost our Bojangles probably 10-12 years ago, dammit.

Dudes, all of the chickens made into fast food come from the same places. It's not like avoiding KFC means avoiding factory farms.
