DBT--- I keep being told this is one of the great bands... this year I finally heard this one, saw them live (guitarist stepped on my hand)... but don't hear the evidence. Nor in the reviews.

BOH - didn't hold up so well, but def gave me a high quality quantity of the needed chiming guitar. Good short blurb.

BTS - These guys have smoked too much dope and can't decide on much. Inertia on the musical couch. Used to really like them. Maybe I'll like them again in the post-rehab album.

I'm really surprised DBT's wasn't top 5. Guessing that the top 6 is B&S, TVOTR, M Ward, Decemberists, the Hold Steady & Neko Case. Does that seem right? If so, that sucks.

Why does it suck?

i guess because those were in every other top-10 in america and, therefore, this board is not unique. it's the consensus we come to every year. i don't know why people are surprised. two of those were on my list and i haven't heard two others.

whatever, opa

Fuck. What did I do this time?

Just meant if you voted DBTs would have finished higher...Others like Frank Black, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Solomon Burke maybe would have stood a chance at making the back end of the list. I assume that it was pretty close at the bottom of the top 20.

Jeez I hadn't thought.... if it's not there by now, Modern Times didn't crack the Top 20. NY you mean Fillmore (I don't vote for "re-releases" or things recorded 30 years ago.. but it was glorious noise. Living w/War faded fast for me. Solomon Burke was just outside my 20...

I can't afford TWO Geo Metros!!! I was thinking something along the lines of a 2007 Kia Spectra and an '89 Yugo.
