I was banging around YouTube the other day, and I came across some Buck Owens videos. I really liked Don Rich taking the reigns for the instrumental "Chapparal" and Rich + Owens harmonies on songs like [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ss_t5eS-IY]"Down Down Down"[/url]

If there are any particularly stellar albums, that's cool, otherwise I would be willing to bet a good solid comp would probably be enough. I think Don Rich also released some solo stuff later in his career. Anyone with any input on that?

Don Rich with the Buckaroos, "Wham Bam Thank You, Ma'am"

[ASIDE]
For those of you stunned by the Buckaroos on-stage style, they got nothin' on Porter Wagoner & Speck Rhoads.

[ASIDE, Pt. 2]
Jesus Christ. How many lives were ruined by Dave Dudley & his band during their "Six Days on the Road"?

Don Rich has a forehead twice the size of Leland Palmer. Mere words cannot convey the impressiveness of this freakish feat.

We just need to go ahead and re-title this thread "20 to Life."

Damn. I have most of this shit around here somewhere. Tis good. Is "Maid In Japan" on that comp? If not, it's essential Buck, and I have it somewhere.

Heh heh. The song that 2 Dollar Pistols one day refused to play anymore, citing "ehh, it kinda makes some people... uncomfortable."

If I have some time today, I'll make a Doc Watson/Merle Travis/Chet Atkins mix, and post it.

I have this one particular song on CD (I gotta find it)...it's a tribute by Doc Watson to his brother, called "St. James Infirmary". It's one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard.
