I got a package of specialty goat cheese as a thank you gift from an advertiser for some production work they liked. I accepted it graciously (who the hell gives goat cheese???) but now don't know what to drink with it.

What do I drink with goat cheese? Besides various wines, which I've had plenty of lately. Beer, probably not. Mixed drinks? Is there a sanctioned goat cheese drink? Or will I just have to wing it?

I think you would be perfectly justified mixing goat cheese with a nice Belgian beer.

marinate chicken breasts in lemon oil and olive juice, soak sundried tomatoes in a bit of red wine, slit a pocket in the breasts and stuff with goat cheese, tomatoes, and basil. oil up some toothpicks and close slit. bake at 350 for 15.

Drink white win with it.

I'm having a fat tire, meat loaf is in the oven with green bean casserole, and i'm making redskin mashed potatoes.

Looks like I'm gonna have to look into goat cheese useage beyond just cubes of it on a salad. Sounds like it's a versatile product. For having come from goats.

Checkin' in late suh. We went to the wife's company's holiday dinner. Yes, its the end of January, but who am I to argue. At first, I was told on the way there, that this was strictly a free beer type of situation at the bar. Ok, I'm thinking this is going to be a lager night, and I'm going to be paying tomorrow with the beer craps, trying to get the Amstels out of my system. We roll up, and lo and behold, the entire bar is open, and they have tons of good beers ready to be drank.

Drank:

5 pints of Guinness
1 Jack and Coke
1 Bailey's straight

probably could've polished off another Guinness, but I ate way too many crab poppers along with my dinner.

Went out with some friends from church to one of our local brewpubs, Lancaster Brewing Company.

1 pint of their seasonal wheat called Dunkel Wiezen
1 pint of their Hop Hog

in addition to a very fine Lamb Burger. mmmm.
