I dunno, good song, not a bad commercial, but something is wrong, very wrong.

Discuss.

Uhhhh, most the people who would know that song are getting ready to be AARP-aged?

True. Bilzebub and Rads should be getting fitted for their skull and crossbones Depend's any day now.

Also, punk rock GILFS.

I heard it a few days ago and was mildly shocked. Seems like an odd mix.

Slightly off topic, but isn't "Orgasm Addict" a no-brainer to soundtrack a Viagra spot?

Isn't AARP induction age 50?

Yeah, 50, rite of passage. fuck y'all

Eyelid surgery, called blepharoplasty, is a procedure to remove fat, usually along with excess skin and muscle, from the upper and lower eyelids, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and puffy bags below the eyes, features that make one look older.

yeah, but that's no biggie. It's people who were 20 when we were born that are now members.

So, for you, Nirvana and Pearl Jam shall usher you into AARPdom. As for me? Wilco and Neutral Milk Hotel.

actually that was a sync/licensing deal that our dept did. so i work for the man, sue me.

aarp is trying to reach out to the baby-boomer consumers and through research of who their consumers are, that's why that song was picked...

I was going to say Biggie and Pac for you but then I remebered that black people (or white people who act like them) don't live to age 50.

Pete Shelley will be 52 in April so he's on the shuffleboard cusp.

Plus, seeing the commercial during a CBS Sunday Morning program really makes it hit home.

I did a double take.

Is it the one that uses Everybody's Happy Nowadays....without any of the sarcasm intact?

They should have used Orgasm Addict.

Really, any time I get to hear a Buzzcocks song out of the blue, it makes me smile, so I'm ok with it.

Now that Paul McCartney is actually 64, the "will you still need me, will you still feed me" line is proving to be about Heather going "you never give me your money."

Saw The Who last fall... or what's left of them. Roger, who had hung on to youth way past his shelf-life due date.... was old. He had a hard time moving under the swinging mic to catch it... reflexes slowed.

But the other part of maturity is.... I really am much more at peace about so many things that used to churn in my psyche.

Why don't I all f-f-f--f-ade away....

Too bad it wasn't Paul who sang "you may be a lover, but you ain't no dancer," as Heather probably isn't wont to trip the lights fantastic, given her status as a monopede.

Nice. Can you disaggregate more? 25-35? 50-60? 60-70? And Streisand isn't just a fag thing.... cocktails, cigarettes, jazz for white people, cabaret... like my parents' generation listened to swing and big bands...

ah, makes sense. just kinda surprised me when i looked up the numbers.

generally when we run research the demo goes in the buckets of: 13-17, 18-26, 25-36, 36-50, 50+.

so, artist bought for 26-35 as of 11/06:
1. Aerosmith 31.1%
2. Metallica 23.8%
3. Green Day 23.5%
4. The Beatles 22.5%
5. AC/DC 22.3%
6. Red Hot Chili Peppers 21.3%
7. Led Zeppelin 20.0%
8. Evanescence 19.2%
9. Alanis Morissette 18.7%
10. Dave Matthews Band 18.7%

and this is out of a total of 11,716 respondents of the 'average music consumer.'

I love when I get a call about my radio listening habits and I have to repeat the call letters and frequencies of the 3 college stations I listen to so they can write them down.
