what sucks is that they have separate rooms for the booze here in wisconsin. You have to check out twice (once for groceries and once for booze).

Yeah, what a hardship

Here you can't by beer in a liquor store. And since liqs are staterun, the selection is pretty shitty.

ditto in PA

beer is sold at distributers and the ocasional (expensive) corner store, liquor is sold in state stores which are on average 15% more expensive than anywhere else.

Yeah, the case law blows. I don't know what the rational is. I think it's got something to do with Lutherans.

Yeah, PA Blue Laws fucking suck. Although the Take-Out Beer (from bars) aspect is nothing to shake a stick at. I have bought many a $43 case of Yuengling at like 1:45...

There's a couple of places that I know of with great selections, both in PA and in DE. The problem is that they're not close to anything. I hit up Total Wine in Wilmington at least once a month. Though I'd kill someone to find a place that sells Fat Tire.

I refuse to buy beer at the state store unless I have to since they charged me $700 for a 30 pack of high life.

I'm almost positive they don't sell it East of the Mississippi. I know they didn't when I worked in a liquor store in college. Granted that was 7 years ago, but I've still never seen it in the A or Florida or NH or any of the places I have been over the past 7 years.

I bought a 12 pack of Milwaukees Best for $4.50 this weekend.

Nebraska doesn't have any fucked up laws like that, but there are a few dry counties where you can't buy anything.
The most ridiculous drinking law in the Husker state is the Boilermaker law which forbids bars from serving beer and liquor mixed together, although you can buy a shot and mix it yourself.
Some Senator from Omaha is trying to get it repealed in the state legislature, but groups like MADD are all concerned that it will open the door to alco-pops here.
They were also going to try to get the bar closing time to 2am from 1am in an effort to pass a statewide smoking ban.

I think there should be a rounding up of ridiculous alcohol laws, followed by a mass execution. Is there one state that doesn't have anything stupid on the books concerning booze?

That's what I heard when I went to St. Loiuis last December.

Cheap beer? Pffffft!

Wait, is Fat Tire considered cheap? If so, that's who gets my vote.

Nope. Fat Tire's awesome. Think "$9 a 12 pack."

yuengling black & tan, pbr, high life, schlitz malt liquor, colt 45, and magnum all find their way into my life on a weekly basis. the black & tan not as often as i'd like, but malt liquors, pbr, and high life are my preferred cheap beers, and all i drink is cheap beer because i work a 6 an hour job.
