JAN 31 - San Diego for show @ Belly Up
FEB 1 - Drive to LA for show @ Temple Bar
FEB 2 - Fly Home

On FEB 1 I plan to do 2 things: eat at In & Out Burger and go to Amoeba.

This will be my first trip to the state. I'm psyched. It's really a business trip for me. I'm covering the shows for two of my clients.

In n Out was a good fast food burger, but word on the street is that Fat Burger is the jam.

You'll have to sample both and get back to me.

In n' Out is fast food (very good fast food) but it doesn't compare to a good burger in a sit down, waitress service joint. Fat Burger is average at best.

LA's not really known for its burgers but there are certainly better burgers than either of these, but why go for burgers in LA when cheap and awesome Mexican is plentiful.

Stu...would be great to meet for an amoeba run, food, beer or all of the above when you're in town. You picked good venues. I like both a lot, especially Belly Up whose main drawback is being in Solana Beach which is fairly remote from both LA or SD.

If you like indian food, billy knows a slamming spot not from his place OR amoeba.

And he's a quality hang.

You went to amoeba in the middle of the work week during the day. You're lucky anybody showed. If I hadn't been "working" from home I certainly wouldn't have been able to make it.

Stangely, outside of LA it really is known for burgers. (at least according to fine Gentlemen's reading selections like GQ and Esquire.)

Ok, now that I'm back on the board for the first time since posting this thread AND this has turned back into a thread about me and not Bob, I'd like to discuss how I can go about meeting some LA obnish, particularly billy g, Aural and Dri since they actually responded and I want to add them to my list of obnish I've met (and I hear they are pretty cool too).

I have NO idea what my schedule is, and I'll be getting a rental car in San Diego and driving up to LA on Feb.1. I'm guessing the best time to meet people would be AFTER work since it's a Thursday. Since I've never been to the area, it would probably be best for you guys to tell me what would be easiest since I have to be in Santa Monica by 8:00pm at the latest and I guess I should stay out by LAX since I fly out at 11:30am on Feb. 2 and don't want to be stuck in traffic and miss my flight.

Sidenote - I see that Peter Bjorn & John are playing the Roxy on Feb.1 and I'm pretty much forced to miss this show since I'm covering two of my client's gig at Temple Bar. Majorly sucks.
