I love the idfea of not having all my music take up so much space, but I don't think I'll ever be a convert ot strictly digital....

even though, i rarely look at the the cd booklet more then once, or even play the cd cause i put it pn my ipod upon buying it.....i just like having the real thing...

You only go digital?? I notice you have plenty of music always on Soulseek. I like having the physical album and don't think I could ever just buy from ITunes or whatever.
yeah, i stopped buying discs (other than blank) a few years ago. i hate moving discs, i hate having them in my house, i hate assigning value to them, etc. i also hate books that i've already read and movies that i've already seen. that shit is CLUTTEROUS.

If you don't mind me asking...

Where do you acquire your music from? You just have a massive hard drive? Sound quality isn't an issue?

I love the convenience of downloading mp3s, but the quality isn't always too great. I downloaded an album off Soulseek, played it thru winamp for awhile, then bought the album on cd and was like this sounds so much better. But, I definitely see the space situation. I think I feel cool cause I have a decent size cd collection.

I think they mean they've "gone transient".

LOL.
Used to be in perfect order:
Alphabetical by artist, then chronological by original release date.

Now: kids take up ALL my time, PLUS my collection has ballooned, PLUS my wife shuffles up the order of the discs all the time anyway.

Still, I pretty much know where most things are.

As of about a month ago, I started burning 2 copies of used CDs I buy and selling the original back. I end up getting fresh music for about $3 an album, and have a copy for home and work.

But why not just download those albums and not spend any money?

I bought a decent shelf that holds 1080 discs and organized my collection alphabetically about a month ago. I only ended up filling it about 2/3 and I could have sworn I had at least 800 cds.

In any case, I'm happy and have plenty of space for any other cds I get, though I've gone the mostly digital route like a lot of others. The only cd's I really get are ones from yourmusic.com every month and any big new releases. I don't have time for used bin browsing like I used to.
