I stopped by a local wine and beer shop that had just opened. Got talking with the owner and he recommended this beer:

He poured me a sample and... it was simply the best beer I've ever tasted. It's indescribably complex.
Bitter.
Sweet.
Hoppy.
Carmel.
Floral.

All in sequence and simultaneously. And... wow.

Beer geeks: you must seek this out.
Perfection.

EDIT: 10.5% ALCOHOL!?!?!?

just checking Binny's Bev. Depot and this fucking shit is $9 a BOTTLE?

$8 a bottle here, and I think about it more like buying a bottle of wine. It's a little bit smaller, and slightly less alcohol, but I'd rather drink this than wine.

But, yeah, it's not something you buy often. Still cheaper than Chimay, though.

Bell's is my favorite, especially Oberon. If it's not sold in IL anymore I guess there's no chance of getting it in Washington anytime soon.

I *think* it's just ChicagoLand that was affected, and only because of some sorta back-assward shit with distributor monopolies or something.

Bell's fucking OWNS. They don't make anything I would consider less than stellar.

Mmmm, Chimay. Should't really be over nine dollars a bottle if you shop around. I have one bottle left (red!) and may crack it tonight.

I used to live just downwind from Guiness and it's somewhat ruined for me after a few years - are you upwind from Bells?

So yeah, these are seriously delicious. I also had a Dogfish 90 Minute IPA, my first, both courtesy of Busty. That's fucking hopsitality.

My god, that 90 minute'er is a commitment. It should come with a contract.

Hung. Over.
