was it a good bar with douchebags in it or a douchebag bar? There's a big difference, considering every bar fills up with douchebags at least once a week.

Well, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by douchebags, but if I recall, you were there pretty early in the "new era" of the bar. I think it's changed a lot. Certainly had by 2005 when I left.
