so...y'all ever heard of the WARN act?

my wife just got off the phone with someone she knows in HR, and basically they will be paying her out 60 days + 2 weeks on the 31st, plus paying her COBRA for 2 months. this new company did not follow the WARN act which states you must notify employees of mass layoffs within some certain time frame. which they didn't.

wow...this really couldn't have gone any better considering she was just going to up and quit in 2 weeks.

Nice deal. I didn't even think about that. It makes sense though to require companies to provide at least some notice.

good ol warn act. i know this gets triggered based on the #'s you are letting go but not sure how many. good new man.
