So I've got a CD that I checked out from the library stuck in my disk drive. The drive won't open...it starts but gets stuck. In the past, when this kind of thing happened if I restarted my computer it'd open. Not this time though. How do I open this damn thing? Jimmy it open?

get a paperclip and put in the little pinhole in the front of the cd drive. that usually works.

Does the drive door have a small, pin-sized hole in it?

If so, try sticking a pin/needle/paper clip end in the hole and see if the door ejects. If it doesn't, jimmying may be your best (although not optimal) option.

Didn't know about the pinhole thing before, but I'm afraid it's not working anyway. It opens just slightly and I might be able to jam some tweezers or something in there and grip it. Thanks!

Got the piece of shit to open by prying. The drive could be dead now, but it doesn't really matter because I have two and this was the useless (non-RW) one.
