I'm not sure which I'd go with.

I vote someone who doesn't care... that way, at least you won't fight over the stereo.

She knows it's shitty, but she still loves that European dancy-pop music. She'll listen to the same 2 disc "Hits" set for months in a row, until she gets a new one.

All my girlfriends have been pretty good about music.
My most recent is the most indie being a huge Rilo Kiley, Tilly and The Wall and Tegan and Sara fan.

I choose neither. Neither is more desirable than the other.

The girl I'm sort of seeing right now is actually a really talented producer. We have plans to listen to music together. Please send sexy music that I will not feel ashamed or cheeky playing for her.

she annoys me sometimes with her bad taste in music. however - i dominate what music is playing in teh car, at home, what concerts we go to, everything. i am her source of music knowledge. so - i guess it sould be worse if she was like really passionate about ppdd or gypsy folk or something.

I couldn't date someone who had radically different taste in music than me. I mean, if she only listened to electronica but it was really good electronica, that would be fine. But if she listened to Black Eyed Peas, Nelly Furtado, and all that shit I couldn't do it.

But then I can't picture dating someone with no interest in music either. I need someone who I can discuss bands with, go to concerts with, and who'll be as excited about a new release coming up as me.

why isn't there a choice for someone who is passionate about good music?

My wife's taste in music is really great. She turns me onto many, many older bluegrass/country bands. Recently, she's been infatuated with the new Lambchop. She picks up a lot of stuff which I don't even recommend to her, she just steals it from my collection and rips it to her computer. Plus, she has started ordering directly from labels...how cool is that?

It's a classical Greek dilemma... two bad choices.

I got lucky - we share a lot of things, taste-wise. Not everything, of course, but most. Somehow she enjoys CYHSY, but I punish her by playing Rush when she's bad.

I was well-behaved and chose one for the sake of the exercise. I guess I'd rather have someone who's at least passionate about music. who gets being passionate about music.

I dunno. An impossible choice which I luckily don't have to make. My man is into good stuff. He's not obsessive like I am--he's the film freak, I'm the music freak--but he gets my love of music, likes great stuff, and is passionate about what he likes. He's also more open-minded & laid back about it than I am, which is a good influence methinks.

We love a lot of the same stuff, but we also introduce each other to new stuff, which is fun.

My one and only complaint: I just don't get why in god's name cute, intelligent boys with otherwise good taste feel the need to be into WEEN.

I force mine to listen to whatever I'm listening to but am good about suggesting stuff (and putting on her ipod) things I think she might like.

And mostly, she likes good music anyways, so its by and large not even an issue.

I do the same, except if I even mention it, she hates it.

Of jealousy.

Riz hasn't done shit in ages, far as I know, but she is a cutie, from the little jpgs I've seen.

Yep.
My love likes the classic-er stuff like Joni Mitchell and Aretha Franklin, but generally comes along for any musical ride I suggest

well...then again, she skimps on her rap diet, I guess.

She likes music(doesn't sing so well-our joke) and doesn't spend the time looking for it. She likes my tastes so she pretty much defers to me for the digging. I'm always discreetly planting cd's in the car case for her to check out. I mostly get good feedback. And the ipod is hers. I reload it with new material for her all the time.
