AP just reported Brett Favre is returning with Green Bay for the next season.

Didn't think he was ready to get done yet, anyway.

Marshawn Lynch will look good in green and gold (as long as he doesn't assault anyone).

even if the pack can't muster a playoff return, there go marino's records. even an average replica of 2006 stats pushes him past marino an on to "dancing with the stars" in 2008!

As is, I am surprised that the punk bitch didn't drag this out longer, for maximum encomia possibility.

Upon hearing this news, I'm guessing the floor of the Madden Cruiser soon resembled those found in the booths of an adult bookstore.

I wouldn't retire either after the beat down they gave the Bears on New Years
Eve.

Think of the circumstances. It was the final game of the year, New Year's Eve, Bears had the #1 seed and HFA locked up. Ooh, what a reason to come back! They beat the Bears in a meaningless game.

As a true Bears fan, you should know better than anyone that THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A MEANINGLESS BEARS-PACKERS GAME!!!

If records, etc. were important, they'd have cancelled the series for the entire 1970s.

As a fan, I know that. I sure as hell wanted the Bears to win. The Bears players, on the other hand, knew they had a hell of a lot more to play for then beating the Pack. My point is that that final game had nothing to do with Favre's decision to come back.

i think driver & jennings will do good. depth in the draft would help. i don't think i want moss like favre reportedly wants. the biggest receiving help would be at TE. and no FB has been able to catch post-whenderson. maybe shift morency into FB and draft lynch to rotate with ahman.

quote from journal sentinal: " By playing another season, Favre has the opportunity to break a few indelible NFL records. He needs seven more touchdown passes to break Dan Marino's NFL mark of 420 career touchdown passes, and 3,862 passing yards to surpass Marino's 61,361 (Favre had 18 touchdown passes and 3,885 passing yards in 2006). He also needs just two more victories to pass John Elway and become the winningest quarterback ever.

And, of course, Favre will be able to add to his ironman record of 237 consecutive regular-season starts (257 including playoff games). No other quarterback in NFL history is even close, with Peyton Manning in second with 144 consecutive starts."

man, i can't wait for next season! i'm hoping he can get each of those records. unbelievable!?!

+ blanda. (forgot how close he is to that records.)

then if peyton can keep it up will break all these records in 7-ish years from now.

[EDIT on Blanda: Blanda = 277 int, favre's at 273.]
