Your chance to join The Wrens

Indie faves search for a temporary member
The Wrens are giving fans the chance to join the band on a temporary basis.

The New Jersey indie favourites are known for their complex arrangements, many of which cannot be recreated live. But the band have come up with a novel solution.

As they explain on their official website: "There are a bunch of songs we either don't play live or don't play all that well. In most cases, there are simply too many parts on the recorded versions and we can't figure a way around not playing the parts live can't cover them with just the four of us or just haven't gotten around to or felt like rearranging the song yet. The solution? Well, maybe rehearsal, sure, but for now... the fifth Wren."

The search for a temporary member is being thrown open to fans, and the British and Irish leg will see the winner invited up onstage at Dublin Whelans on February 15 and London ULU on February 17.

To be in with a chance, email 5th_wren@wrens.com and then head over to Wrens.com, where the parts are available to learn as sheet music. The temporary member will then be chosen at random.

I've always dreamed of singing Happy onstage with them. I've got that song down pat.

& I don't even know to what this "lasagna" is a reference.

Is 'Radcliffe' the indie-rock board alter-ego of Garfield creator Jim Davis? Does Radcliffe use a variation on the McGruff suit & dress as Davis's Garfield to lure the kiddies?
