Our tax refund check was due in at H&R Block yesterday, but when we called to see if it had arrived, we were told that the return was kicked back by the IRS because another return had been filed with an identical SS number. Turns out it's my wife's, and after an initial identity fraud scare (and there's still a very slim possibility that is actually the case -- but GOD I HOPE NOT), the IRS thinks someone probably entered the wrong SS on the return sent before ours.

So, instead of getting our refund yesterday (or anytime in the foreseeable future), we now have to submit a paper return via snail mail, wait for the IRS to boot that one back to us requesting verification of identity (they won't let us send such verification in along with the initial return), let them investigate, and eventually around the time Dakota Fanning goes into menopause, we'll finally get our fucking money.

And, on top of all this, we still have to pay H&R Block for preparing our return.

I now know what OPA! feels like being a bottom.

how long ago did you file? shouldn't they have known way before you were due a return that it was kicked back?

this thread just reminds me how lucky i am (for now) that i live simply enough to do taxes on my own.

You paid H&R Block to do it for you?

Software is the answer.

You've had their balls in your mouth enough that you'd think LooGAR or Yail could get you "Uncle Brian's" office line.

Though I am sure he could adjudicate the case nicely, he is not a tax attorney. NO Bubba, Ho, Ho, he is STRICTLY a criminal lawyer, and therefore we pay him massive retainers, in the case, should anything arise.

I don't mouth balls, monty -- I gently caress them. Next time do your homework!

That sucks Bob, sorry to hear about this. Hopefully it's just a numerical error and not some immigrant laying a claim to your tax refund.

Oh, and Dakota Fanning. lol.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's not identity theft, because if it is, I'm gonna go Buford Pusser on somebody's ass.

As far as I'm aware, in the UK all this tax stuff happens magically on it's own.

Speaking of shitty, if there is an IRS office in big D I think you should go down there and pull and upper decker.

If not, the H&R Block office will do. They should've been more on top of this, therefore, partially deserving.

As pissed as I get doing my own taxes and somehow getting screwed a little for being just outside the poverty line, I can't imagine how pissed I would be having to cut a check for that much without actually purchasing something like a car.

I apologize. I was unaware her insides were a rocky place where your seed could find no purchase. I thought it was Tanner who had a problem with his semen.
