Thank you.

Wait, is this true?

Sadly, yes.

Proud to say I've heard that song probably 100 times in the last 25-ish years, & never paid close enough attention to know about the space critter thing.

The Cartman version still cracks me up, though.

Speaking of Styx, any awful songs list MUST include
"Mr. Roboto"

(sorry about that link)

I hope you're kidding. Both "No Myth" and "Tempted" are probably in the TOP 5 of all '80s songs.

Okay, I admit I was wrong, this thread is strangely compelling. I think it was just the people posting overplayed but not awful things that annoyed me.

Also, I have to ask, regarding these:

CHER - Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)
ARETHA FRANKLIN - (You Make Me Feel) Like A Natural Woman

Do you just hate these versions, or the originals too? I don't think I've ever heard Cher's cover. Is it really bad?

Cher: It's beyond awful. Consider yourself lucky that you have escaped hearing it.

Urethra: Like most gay men, this song is too way-over-the-top for me. So its on my list.

the eagles - "hole in the world"

this has to be up there, right? even surpassing most of the eagles' output, which was also terrible.

I wish.

Popsicle Toes
Michael Franks
From: The Art of Tea

And when God gave out rythm
He sure was good to you.
You can add, subtract, multiply and divide...
By two.

I know today's your birthday,
And I did not buy no rose.
But I wrote this song instead and I call it,
"Popsicle Toes".

Popsicle toes.
Popsicle toes are always froze.
Popsicle toes.
You're so brave to expose all those popsicle toes.

You must have been Miss Pennsylvania
With all this pulchritude.
How come you always load your Pentax
When I'm in the nude?

We oughta have a birthday party,
And you can wear you birthday clothes
We can hit the floor
And go explore those
Popsicle toes.

You got the nicest North America
This sailor ever saw.
I'd like to feel your warm Brazil
And touch your Panama

But Your Tierra del Fuegos
Are nearly always froze.
We gotta see saw
until we unthaw those
Popsicle toes.

Popsicle toes.
Popsicle toes are always froze.
Popsicle toes.
You're so brave to expose all those popsicle toes

Now imagine those lyrics set to the kind of lite jazz/rock that makes "Your Body Is A Wonderland" sound like Judas Priest.

this song not existing would never have led to the great cover of the song that los straitjackets performed live, notably when on "late night with conan o'brien." although, i suppose the ridiculous number of times i heard the dion version cancels out the awesomeness of los straitjackets' cover.

Here's a pretty glaring omission:

"Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone" - Glass Tiger

And while on the subject of jungle-themed band names...

"When TEH CHILDREN Cry" - White Lion

Wow. Five pages of terrible songs and no mention of Jimmy Buffet.

"Cheeseburger In Paradise" is my least favorite song of all time.

a 4th grade GAR's fave song.

You people truly just don't GET terrible.

The third entry close to mine is 'With Arms Wide Open' by Creed

That's my thought. Terrible is that Mraz song I mentioned, or Creed. Truly irredeemable shit.
