The Colts finally did what the Pacers have failed to do so many times, bring a championship team to Indy. Today, there's a parade downtown in 6 degree weather!

Yeah. I only pay attention to one game a year, so I have no use for nuanced evaluations. But boy did they stink up the field last night.

And an arm like a limp dishrag. This dude isn't Elway, shouldering a team to 3 Super Bowls. The two interceptions, and the other duck had the trajectory of a moon-shot-parabola. Sorry, I would have cut him DURING the game. I understand being a homer, but, as I said a long time ago, he's not going to get you there.

Also, I have to take issue with the Bears D. Playing that bullshit soft zone was their death knell. No pressure on Manning, and basically being in prevent most of the game made all of those 8 yard dumps and 6 yard runs a virtual certainty. You are lucky it was raining or the score would have been worse.

I was just about to say something similar in response to the idiotic ramblings of South Pacific, but you said it pretty well.

Memo to Lovie Smith: Invest in some Philadelphia Eagles or New England Patriots game film and acquaint yourself with multiple shifts on the defensive side. That fucking two deep zone base defense that NEVER SHIFTS is about as played out as the Wing-T.

Also, to the people (this may not reach some of you because I've had to hear it in Atlanta) who think Lovie is such a great coach, I'd like to point out that he is now 1-2 in big games with the one win coming at home against an incredibly overrated Saints team. I don't think Lovie is a BAD coach necessarily, I just think he probably should have actually won something as a coordinator first before he got a big job.

I can't believe they didn't bring more pressure. Every analyst in the nation was saying that was a huge key to the game.

Wasn't Urlacher yelling at the sideline early in the 4th about bringing the heat?

Props to the Colts O-line though. Jeff Saturday is a beast.

And for the doubters, Prince played every bit of that loud-ass guitar work. I thought it was fucking awesome. You never, ever see shit like that anymore - it's always lip-synced, air guitared, etc., and with 14 guest stars. Not this time, dammit. Just Prince, a band, and a cranked guitar.

..a fucking Foo Fighters song!

That took me by surprise.
And it made me smile... I like that song and it was cool to hear him do it.

Back in the 60's bands were ALWAYS covering current songs by their contemporaries. So I think of that action as a bit of a throwback.

Like I said, it made me smile.

Totally agree. Vocals were alright, but his guitar was TOO loud.

I was picturing a purple-clad thug leaning over the sound board, giving the sound man the "uh-uh" look every time he reached to turn that channel down a bit.

Thank you. They turned it off just as "Let's Go Crazy" was beginning and then back just as he was finishing "Purple Rain", so for all I knew he just played the album.

Foos routinely play "Darling Nikki" in their live shows.

Prince is repaying the favour.

This was for MJ ripping out the Pacers heart thru-out the 90s.

Reggie Miller should get a ring from the Irsays as consolation.

Was it me, or did his guitar crap out at the end? Seemed like his fingers were moving, but nothing was happening.

His playing was a bit sloppy, but Christ, the guy was playing in the rain while walking/running around.

I'll bet it was hard for the dancers to keep their footing on that slippery stage.
