so what you're telling me is that you never use any of the following products because philip morris owns them. oh, and rj reynolds owns nabisco. well, good for you.

How did I know that this would get a rise out of you?

No, that is not what I'm saying.
I am speaking specifically of the actual tobacco products.

The company has diversified, good for them! But creating marketing materials for cigarettes, snuff, chewing tobacco, or anything as such would leave a terrible taste in my mouth. And honestly, I don't thik I would be able to do it.

I'm guessing that you've done work for, or are currently doing work for one of these clients? If so, sorry if I offended you.
Philip Morris is spinning off Kraft so it'll be true blue again. and I can't remember the last time that I saw an ad for them that wasn't going around a track at 150 miles an hour.

Wait a minute. Taco Bell is not owned by Phillip Morris, it's owned by Yum Inc., who also owns KFC, Long John Silver's, and Pizza Hut. It is also a publicly traded corporation. Where did this list come from?

I passed over their Taco Mix for Old El Paso tonite, or I would do the taste comparison, cos tommorrow's lunch has STEAK TAQUITO written all over it.

I think that your post actually illustrates that all corporations are evil.

An interesting article on the public's perception of trustworthyness in professions...well, at least in Canada anyways:

http://www.politicalgateway.com/news/read/59564

TORONTO, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Firefighters are the most trusted professionals while chief executives are among the least trustworthy, a Canadian survey said Monday.

The nationwide poll found firefighters were considered trustworthy by 93 percent of respondents, followed by nurses (87 percent), pharmacists (86 percent), airline pilots (81 percent) and doctors (80 percent).

CEOs were considered trustworthy by just 21 percent of the 1,000 representative adult Canadians polled by Ipsos Reid between Dec. 21 and 27 for Simpatico/MSN.

Only union leaders (19 percent), local politicians (12 percent), national politicians and car salespeople (both 7 percent) ranked below CEOs in the "whom do we trust" survey.

Canadians said "integrity" (67 percent), "commitment to promises" (64 percent) and "reliability" (62 percent) were extremely important in determining trustworthiness.

Medical research (57 percent), airlines (52 percent) and technology (49 percent) were the most trusted industries, while advertising (14 percent), oil (12 percent) and tobacco (7 percent) were regarded as the least trustworthy.

The representative online sample had a 3.1 probable percent margin of error compared with what it would have been had the entire population been surveyed.

So, Canadians know that advertising lies to them, but they trust the people who make products that are marketed to them, and their pimps...er...people who peddle their wares...er...Nurses and Doctors and Medical Researchers.

Here's a better question: Would you let your neighbor watch your dog?

sorry for the obnoxious length of this post. i know it would be way cooler if it was a poem, published in a collection of works available for only $19.95 + S&H.

And like Crack's position that Kraft is getting spun off from PM, their parents company, RAPICO, will stay the same.

a lawyer's ethical duty is to represent the interests of their client zealously. therefore, lawyers who don't know how to say no to a paycheck from an idiotic client are going to run into problems.
