The new Richmond Fontaine record produced by JD Foster with help from Joey Burns of Calexico and Howe Gelb of Giant Sand have come up with something quite unique. Willy Vlautin's songs move away from the "alt-country" milieu and embraces orchestration, keys and an unconventional use of pedal steel.

I've only got Post to Wire but I like it.

I'd cut about 3 songs off of it but the rest are solid.

I was reading about this today in The Independent.

Anyone read Vlautin's book? The Motel Life. I was thinking about ordering it.
