Last night, I drug out my old copy of Antenna, and realized how much I like it. So...

A while ago, I was in the used rekkid store and was excited to see a new(?) Cave In CD (can't remember the name of it), and I remember the singer doing the Cookie Monster vocals, so I hastily put it back.

Are there any other CI releases I might enjoy, that don't have the CM singing?

Thanks.

Antenna always sounded like Foo Fighters to me. As mentioned, they've changed their sounds slightly from album to album though. I only own Antenna, but have heard their other stuff.

Jupiter is the masterpiece.

Tides of tommorrow ep is very, very prog w/ all clean vocals

Until The Heart Stops and Beyond Hypothermia are extreme metal, great, but w/no clean vocals to speak of.

Perfect Pitch Black is indeed the best of both worlds.

I'd get Jupiter first.

I like Jupiter, Antenna, and most of Perfect Pitch Black. I did not like Beyond Hypothermia.

Beautiful, thanks.

I had seen that EP and wondered about it.

I guess I'll have to get Jupiter then because the first half of Antenna rocks my socks off.

I love that album.

I can up some stuff for you, Finch, if you'd like:

Creative Eclipses EP (this was the transition from hardcore to Jupiter)
Moons of Jupiter EP (a remix and some stripped down versions of a few tracks off Jupiter)
Tides of Tomorrow EP
Brodsky's Ole' Sunday (came before Octave Museum, has a more garage sound)

I might have to give PPB a try; after hearing Antenna, I gave up on these guys (thought it was pretty bad, basically the "sell out" album) but the whole thing seemed out of character for them and the positive comments on the follow-up reinforce that.

Their older hardcore stuff is pretty incredible, but yeah, it's not something to blindly recommend if you like the newer discs. I unknowingly picked up Hypothermia after hearing Jupiter -- the record store guy warned me -- and it scared the shit out of me initially.

Thanks for the offer, but I just bought *gasp* Jupiter and Tides Of Tomorrow used from Django's based on replies to this thread.

And, I'm on dial-up.
