Can anyone remind me of good pipe organ songs that can be played in a church? I don’t know how I feel about walking out to an Arcade Fire song. Anyone?

"Rock You Like A Hurricane"?

Pipe organ? hell if I know man.

Wasn't there a Simpsons where Bart gives sheet music to the organist and she plays Inagaddadavida?

yeah, we thought of that...not a good idea.

"Like a Hurricane", maybe, but that's kind of...spooky on the pipe organ, no?

Organ Donor by DJ Shadow

Radiohead: Motion Picture Soundtrack, although that is not a pipe organ.

Recessional for your wedding?

Widor Toccata from Symphony No 5 in F, Op 42 No 1.

If we were getting married in a church (let alone one with an organ) that would be the jam.

On the trite, yet not so trite side of processionals, there are organ transcriptions for Bach's Air on G string that are pretty lovely, somewhat recognizable, and not overdone.

One thing is that I would check with the church to see if they have any 'creative control' over the music that is played there. At the church my cousin was married in, the church officials had to approve the music even though it was a private wedding ceremony. She ended up using Pachebel's Canon in D arranged for organ... overdone in my opinion, but still pretty. And it got the thumbs up.

E, I meet with the organist tomorrow, but I know that we can pretty much have what we want played.
