WORST IDEA EVER

My CD-ROM recognizes these things 1 out of 100 tries, and even then it struggles to rip each individual track. :?

Yeah I think it's been pretty well established that these things completely suck.

That said, I've had no trouble whatsoever ripping the few that I have.

My Jesus and Mary Chain dualdisc causes random loud noises periodically. As if the album doesn't have enough random loud noises already :)

Yup, as soon as I get them, I rip, and burn a new copy for the car or home. I try to stay away as much as possible, but sometimes the release is only available as such for a month or two. See Springsteen.

If you dislike them so much, you should refrain from buying them. I have yet to buy a dualdisc.

I've only got one and haven't had any problems with it. It plays fine in my CD player at home and my portable CD player. I haven't tried it in a computer drive though.

I haven't had too much trouble with them, but I still dislike them.

That's where they have the most problems, generally. It depends on the CD/DVD drive, however. I went out of my way with my latest one to find reivews that suggested one that would have no problems with them and I have been fine with the NEC DVD writer that I bought in May of last year. But they all seem to have a relatively short life anyway - ripping CDs does not seem to be very good for these drives, unfortunately, and DualDiscs seemed to push the cheaper ones over the edge (they killed my previous outright, actually.)
