Right across the street from my hotel, the current tallest building in the world. Beer is kind of expensive here. Chinese New Year is this weekend. That is all.

Cool. Most of the manufacturing for my company is done there and 1 or 2 people in my dept. go every year for the Asian market trade show.

I'm told it's complete and total culture shock. Like landing on another planet.

The beer tastes like shit I'm told.

For me anyway, much less shock than Korea. Just aout everyone speaks at least some English. A shit-ton of humans crammed in here, though- I'll never again bitch about traffic anywhere in the states. And the Stella tastes like Stella anywhere else I've had it. Taiwan (brand) lager is pretty decent as well.

The coolest thing my co-workers did when over there was when they had a layover in China.

They went to a spa and got full body massages, manicures, pedicures, and facials. Full pampering. Whole process took 2 hours and they paid $9 American WITH TIP. Insane.

(and no, it wasn't a "happy ending" joint)

Eat at that Tepanyaki place downstairs. It's awesome.

When you get out of Taipei NO ONE speaks english. And they look at you all strange. You're an oddity. It's pretty crazy.

They have this liquor that tastes like Tequila + Rat Poison, I can't recall the name. My dad does tons of business over there.

I was just reading about that. Beautiful place, very different than mainland China, but hard to get around w/o some chinese skills.
