RCP... once upon a time they weren't embarassing. Kiedis is undoubtably the worse singer (live) ever for a band of this popularity... I can't think of any who even come close to be as bad as he is.

Billy Corgan and Dave Grohl are both pretty shitty live singers.

Grohl gets by pretty well. I've only seen him acoustic (Kerry rally), but he sounded pretty good for being Nirvana's drummer. Corgan, on the other hand, is fingernails on chalkboard. Remember the "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" in Chicago?

And once upon a time, RHCP were relevant, motivated, talented, and lucky, all at the same time. Notsomuch anymore, and it's SAD.

They haven't mattered since USA cancelled Night Flight.

Give me a banjo and some hair gel please.

The problem with this argument, as ever, is that it's a slippery slope (you don't want me posting pictures of every other garbage act that nets lotsa $$). I used to say the same thing to Ze Doktor fucking ten years ago... just because someone makes money does not mean I want to be them. I do not get excited by the prospect of standing in front of ten thousand people and playing shitty music. I DO get excited about standing in front of 40 people and playing something I think is extremely good.

But that's just me.

Isn't this the crux of Extras Season 2.

Would you be happy being the "Are you having a laugh guy?"?

I think there are a lot worse than Grohl... I remember hearing him on a radio interview where he sang and played acoustic alone, not embarassing at all.

This may be heresy, but I once saw G n R many, many years ago and the bitch couldn't find the same key as the rest of the band in 3 out of 4 songs.

I've thought that for years. I don't think it is even smokey at all... rather some bloated crim with trips to switzerland for sheep placenta injections who kidnapped the real smokey. Smokey was always full of pain and joy. This smokey is full of anger and self-satisfaction.

Not that you asked....

My parents just discovered that Timberlake and Timbaland were different people.

They thought it was JT who did the Nelly Furtado song. Justin Timbaland.

Never seen either, but I have heard some horror stories about Corgan live.

I've seen Billy solo a few times and he wasn't bad at all. You're getting what you should expect when you hear him. He doesn't have a great recorded voice, either.
