Check out the video here. My roommie went through the crowd with a camera too, but he hasn't put it on the world wide internet yet.

'This proves once again that people still thinks it's okay to say whatever they want about gay people. Can you imagine if some prominent white player said "I hate black people and I don't want them around me and we don't need them in the US".

He has the right to be a bigot and wasn't weaselly about it. Like clockwork, you knew the requisite apology was coming. Amaeche actually welcomes a dialogue but that's hard to do when people like David Stern do everything in their power to shut bigots up. A commissioner not just interested in sweeping the issue under the rug would have insisted the dude show up at the game and face the press. Usually everyone is quick to call the offender a racist or whatever. This case is odd since Hardaway already beat them to it when he matter-of-factly called himself a homophobe.

I'm hoping Hardaway is vilified forever the same way John Rocker was. The problem is, there are more people saying "what's wrong with hating fags?" than "honestly, though... have you actually seen how Asian women drive"?

It's so maddening that people think that there's a difference between hating/disliking/disapproving of homosexuality and the same about religion. I mean, at least there's the possibility that you're born gay. Nobody, NOBODY is born with a predisposition to buy into a mass delusion. Religion is absolutely a choice. I should be able to dislike a christian for choosing christ just as much as I do a Yankee fan for choosing the Yankees.
