walking wounded is a incredible album. nobody can write a catchy dance pop song like they can. ive always loved the pet shop boys, so i guess ebtg is kind of pet shop boys done 90s style, which would explain why i love them so much.

Walking Wounded is definitely my favorite, although i think that the gf made me stop playing it in her presence when she moved in. i put the kibosh on Crass in retaliation.

My hands down favourite is Tempermental, a fantastic album.

Walking Wounded is excellent and Temperamental is even better. I wish more people made music like that.

Walking Wounded is soooooo good. Especially the title track.
It's crazy how much it mirrored my life at the time of its release.

Tracy Thorn = saddest voice this side of Billie Holiday

i love how they try to hide the fact that she's a little homely on the album covers, she's always got hair in her face or, as is the case with walking wounded, a compact in front of her face...

I absolutely love EBTG.

Temperamental is my favorite. Especially the title track.
Walking Wounded is just as good.
Like a Deserts Miss the Rain is a good compliation for starters.
Back to Mine is a great chillout record, even though it's just a "mix."

The Lazy Dog remix of Tracey in My Room was actually pretty big for awhile. But, they do have some awesome remixes that deserve much more credit.

Speaking of, I think I'mma listen to Temperamental right now.

I'm a bigger fan of their pre-electronica stuff, but they were always solid.

I was trying to find an Obner thread about the new Tracey Thorn album, Out Of The Woods but couldn't find one.

Listening to this today I really like this song. It's her newest single, so I'm going to post it.

Tracey Thorn - It's All True

Tracey Thorn's new solo album will be released on March 20 in the U.S. on Astralwerks.

I love their version of "The Only Living Boy In New York." Top notch.

thanks for the link... LOVE Everything but the Girl, esp. Walking Wounded and Temperamental. Funny this topic got bumped, as I briefly considered pulling Temperamental out and giving it a spin last night. I think my fave track off Temperamental is "Low Tide of the Night" and off Walking Wounded "Mirror Ball."

Yeah, Idlewild is so very much my kinda thing, being the dream-twee-chamber puss I am. Songs like "Apron Strings," "Oxford Street," and "The Night I Heard Caruso Sing"

listened to The Lilac Time's Paradise Circus in the truck this morning

I'm very excited about her new album. It's crazy that she covers Arthur Russell.

I love Idlewild and Paradise Circus. I think their electronic/trip hop albums are open garbage. I was probably almost as disappointed when they went this route as GAR would be if Keith Richards traded his guitar for a harp.

I have to respectfully disagree with billy g and frostingspoon here.

I prefer Walking Wounded, Tempermental, Amplified Heart and all their electronic based stuff over the EBTG early years.

I dig em. I would like to pick up Ben Watts' book about his former illness.

http://tinyurl.com/2nacvq

I remember seeing it when it came out and picking it up, and then setting it down again.

Also, his side project--was this a one-off? I have it, and its great. Highly rec'd. Lazy Dog was the name of it. Great, great stuff.

Walking Wounded had my number pretty good in 98/99.

South,
I love you like a brother I never met who's also a nurse who enjoys a warmer clim, but this is not as good as I had hoped, I guess maybe I was looking forward to some sort of beth Orton utilization of her awesome vocals--- this sounds dated and half-assed. I hope sencerely I am wrong, I will listen again manana.

Tracy we never knew you (wrote the songs for the "deep dish" segments on SNL)
