Why not do something like this, for ole; Steve?
It's a damn tough call, but...

"Hometown Blues"
"When Johnny Comes Marching Home"
"I Ain't Ever Satisfied"
"Carrie Anne"
"Valentine's Day"

...off the top of my head.
So, we'll see how many Earle fans are here. Does this thread sink or swim?

Any list must begin with 'Guitar Town'.

Christmas in Washington
You Know the Rest
Ben McCollough
Last of the Hardcore Troubadours
Guitar Town

More Than I Can Do (first one I heard, which boosts it, plus a fine contribution to the stalker song tradition)

Hard Core Troubadour

Guitar Town

Copperhead Road

You Know the Rest (maybe - don't have stuff here)

Honorable Mention to the cover of "Before They Make Me Run" with the Supersuckers.

This is a staple for the band I play with here in town. I must've played it 40 times, and I have yet to hear the original.

It's up there, but not top-5.
Honestly, on any given day, it can be any of about 20 songs that make the list. But that was yesterday's list.

Makes no difference, so long as you can smell the whiskey burnin'...
