SHEFRAC gave me a $15 iTunes Gift Card for V-Day, and since there wasn't a full album I really wanted, I instead opted to simply download a bunch of individual hits from the '70s to fill in the gaps in my often embarrassing collection.

The result?

A mix CD that's entirely too heavy on the England Dan and John Ford Coley.

Will you people get with the program and stage me an intervention, already?!?!?

I saw England Dan and John Ford Coley once, about 8 years ago...

There were only about 40 people there (it was free).

Ain't nothin' wrong with 70's love. Say it loud, Bob.

While I feel no shame whatsoever in having downloaded three Boz Scaggs tracks and tunes by the likes of Al Stewart, Firefall and Michael Nesmith, it's a lot more difficult to explain away a combined total of SIX ED&JFC/Seals & Crofts songs. I mean, fond Jr. High petting memories aside, this is a DISEASE.

EXACTLY!!! Somehow, I already had "Time Passages" in my collection, but was sorely lacking "TYOTC." "On the Border" will have to wait until my next gift card...

(slaps hands on desk) Ok, I'm out. Too rich for my blood. Somebody go throw Bob in a van and let the healing begin. Al Stewart doesn't have three of his own records - you have no business trying to.

Not full albums, mind you, merely singles. If you heard "On the Border," I GUARANTEE you'd recognize it!

I've had that forever. In fact, there are very, very few '70s hits I don't already have. It amazes me I didn't have these.

This thread is entirely useless without a mention of the Hudson Brothers "Rendezvous".

When I first moved up here, I walked into the new job location, and there on the wall at my station was Time Passages on vinyl, for no reason whatsoever.

The neighbor had Kansas Leftoverture going in his garage the other day and I realized I still know all the songs.

Don't actually want to anymore, but still.

Sure thing, man. You want "Baby Come Back" or "This Time I'm In It For Love"?

Just so long as you're not talkin' 'bout movin' in.

(Funny aside: One of the very first things me and SHEFRAC ever bonded over way back when was the fact that we both misheard the above lyrics as "I'm not talkin' 'bout MERIDIAN." What the hell was THAT supposed to mean?!?)

I can hook you up with either that, or "So You Are A Star," but you're on your own if you want Rod Hull and Emu, or...THE BEAR.
